Then install all the drivers and software using Windows XP compatibility mode.

There is many driver and software downloads. There is also Firmware updates for the printer itself.

Now usually there is drivers/software for certain OS versions. But here it seems to be mainly for XP. Then I think these guys also add universal software/drivers for many printer model#'s, as these are for Windows 7 and 10. This is a bit unusual.

So what I would do, is download and install the Windows XP & 10 drivers and software and also update the printer firmware first.

Make sure you have the power adapter plugged in, and toggle the black switch on the back to turn it on. I don’t really use the circular button on top, but if you press it, it will just feed labels through the printer. It also should light up green before printing, and can be used to clean the printers memory if you hold it down. Click here if you need help with that. The label runs through a black printing head on the printer (which can be replaced), and after printing, can easily be cut off using the metal cutter.

Once you install drivers, there are also some settings that you can adjust to make it print darker. I’ve had problems with this printer turning off unexpectedly if this setting is too high, but have had no problems on a darkness level of around 7-8. Also make sure that you have the printing area set to 4 inches by 6 inches, and print off a sample label to make sure the printing area looks right.

I know it seems obvious, but make sure your printer comes with USB cable, power adapter, and a roll of labels. I actually bought mine without any accessories on eBay and got a better deal, but had to pick up the power adapter and accessories separately.

1. With the hood down and latched, press down on the corner of the hood nearest the status indicator/feed switch until the status indicator turns green, and hold it firmly through steps 2 and 3.

** Bright lights can affect the printers ability to calibrate the head up sensor. If this is the nature of your environment perform the procedure below in a darker environment or shade the printer during step 4.

2. Turn the power switch off.
