Der Opticon DCL1531 ist ein kleiner und leichter mit gerade einmal 105 Gramm (inklusive eingelegter Batterie) Datenkollektor, der mit einer UBS-Schnittstelle (Mini USB, Ver. 1.1, VCP, USB-A Konnektor) ausgestattet ist. Dieses Gerät verfügt über 512 kb RAM und 512 kb Flash-Speicher und ist mit einer Echtzeituhr ausgestattet und ermöglicht es so, Datensätze mit Datum und Uhrzeit zu versehen. Im Lieferumfang sind 2 AAA Batterien (1200mAh), ein USB-Kabel sowie eine Handschlaufe zum Schutz vor Herabfallen enthalten. Die alphanumerische Tastatur ermöglicht eine enfache Dateneingabe, die direkt auf dem integrierten Datenspeicher des DCL1531 von Opticon abgelegt werden können.
