The Honeywell Dolphin 7800 Android has reached end of life. It has been replaced by the Intermec CN51.

Powered by a TI OMAP processor and 256 MB of RAM, the Dolphin 7800 Android runs apps with ease. Google Android 2.3.4 is preloaded on the mobile computer, including Honeywell's security and manageability features to ensure only the apps you want are installed. Bluetooth and 802.11a/b/g/n radios are standard, and you also have the option for GSM & HSDPA cellular radios if needed.

Nine month after the introduction of its Windows Mobile-based Dolphin 7800 enterprise digital assistant, Honeywell added an Android-based version in August 2012. Like the original Dolphin 7800, this second version is targeted at various mobile workforce applications that require a multi-purpose computing, communication and data capture device, but Honeywell describes it also "a device with the same platform that many use in their personal lives."

Dolphin CT40 is the second device of the Honeywell Mobility Edge Platform concept/family. It was designed primarily for indoor use and light-duty field mobility to be a one-stop device for retail store associates and other mobile workers that can handle everything from order picking at a distribution center to in-store merchandising to home delivery and more. The Dolphin CT40 carries IP64 sealing, which means that it can be considered as lighter (and less expensive) variant of CT60.

It has the same 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 hardware platform and Android 7.1.1, which Honeywell will support for four generations of Android — Nougat through Q.
